Short Answer:

I  think that not looking over the textbooks again is a bad idea. There could be errors that could potentially hurt a students grade. The board needs to do whats best for the educational community. I think that they should have real experts recheck the textbooks so students can have the best supplies for them. If there is an error in the textbook the students could get very confused and they will think they are going everything wrong. This could lead to a self confidence issue too. I do not think it is acceptable for textbooks to have mistakes in the them. Students are told they are facts, and if there is a mistake it is not a fact, but students might not know and will learn the mistake as a fact. The example where the social studies called slaves workers is not acceptable to happen. If the teachers told the students that the textbooks are wrong or they could be wrong that would be better, but teachers don't tell students that. The teachers tell students that the textbook is correct. Teachers should read over they textbook pages they assign before they assign them to the students because they could be wrong. I think as far as I know my textbooks are correct, but I can't be sure because what I read in my textbook is  usually new information that I am learning. Therefore how would I know if it was incorrect.
